BPO Project:

Development of the TenCan, a one-way beer keg with 10 litre content volume, for the semi-professional market. The TenCan distinguishes itself by its innovative design, ease-of-use and remarkable styling.

One of the biggest challenges was the development of the steel keg. This has to withstand an internal pressure of 5 bar. BPO has given the bottom and lid an optimal curvature, saving on material and costs without having to make concessions on performance.

Different functions are integrated within the plastic handle. The keg can not only be carried with it, but it also allows for the stacking of kegs on top of each other and it houses the tube with which the keg is broached and connected.

Result:

This internationally awarded product has been developed from sketches through FEM- calculations to mould ready CAD models by BPO in close cooperation with Heineken and producers Impress and Helvoet.
