Tamper evident

Client and producer:

Ten Cate Plasticum (NL)

BPO Project:

A lot of food packaging is supplied with a so called ‘tamper evident’, a seal that guarantees that the packaging has not been opened before first use. When the cap opens, the seal is torn off. Ten Cate Plasticum owns a patent of a cap with tamper evident that can be produced as one single part in an open-close mould. The original geometry was not yet optimal for proper functioning. With the help of FEM calculations insight in the working principle of the cap is gained.

Result:

With the help of detailed FEM analysis the design of a cap with a correct functioning tamper evident is realized. At the time the stacking of the product is optimised after which production can start.
