Spoon in lid
Client and producer:
Superfos Packaging (SE)
BPO project:
Engineering support, mould flow optimisation
The lid, used on disposable containers for a single dessert, is a closed unit with the label. The in mould label (IML) sticks, but does not melt into the plastic. After opening, the spoon is pushed out of the lid. The tiny break ribs complicated filling of the mould. An even filling was required because of the label.
Result:
Because of small but precise variations in thickness, the outer rim fills simultaneously, the label stays in place without wrinkling.

The spoon can easily be removed from the lid
