FEM-analysis and redesign
The casing of this large industrial fan is constructed from 26 segments. The diameter is 8 meters. The fan blades skim along a segment 8 times per second with a velocity of 180 [km] per hour.
The air pressure causes a considerable dynamic load. BPO analysed and optimised the existing product design by improving the pattern. Also, the connection between segments has been redesigned reducing the required number of connection pieces.

Result:

Subtle design changes lead to substantial improvement of the overall stability without adding material. Furthermore the mould ability and assembly have been smoothened.
